Humble pie for Gough and Cork as England are thrashed!

16th December 2013
I drive to work and the station of choice for me unsurprisingly is TalkSport. A few weeks back before England launched their “onslaught!” on the Aussies to retain the Ashes I listened to the great Darren Gough as I was driving home and he left the listeners in no doubt that England were superior in every aspect of the game compared with Michael Clarke’s team.

On the way in to work the following day, the pugnacious Dominic Cork was boasting of a certain 5-0 whitewash by Captain Cook and the boys. Hang on a minute though, some of those matches in the previous Ashes series had been pretty close, but surely these two prominent England players would have the inside track?

In fact, this has probably been the most one-sided Ashes series ever; all 3 tests have resulted in England looking to score 500 plus after Aussie declarations. Utter humiliation has been evident in batting, bowling fielding and captaincy.

So much for the so called pundits!
